We are experts in the design and manufacture of high temperature devices for space and nuclear R&D experiments. Our devices designed in refractory materials can operate up to 1500°C under vacuum. We use materials such as tantalum, tungsten, molybdenum and graphite, or specific ceramics. The devices are instrumented with heating elements and temperature sensors in the most advanced technologies for very high temperatures and clean environments.
Some of these achievements are present in the International Space Station and CEA research reactors.
Soterem has developed several space furnaces, instruments for experiments in materials science in space. Their core can heat up to 1450°C.
To this day, more than thirty alloys have been successfully tested in the ISS.
